charity does not decrease wealth

Assalamu 'alaykum,

There was this young brother named zaid in a small town. He had very little money left but enough to get by. However he had no job and he has to pay a few thousand bucks for an enrichment course he was going to take and he was worried about how he was going to pay for it. One day, he saw a brother at a masjid and saw that he does not seem to be from the same town. Upon talking to the brother, zaid realised that the brother was in a worse condition than him financially and helped him with some of the little money he had. On the same night, Zaid received a phone call that he had been offered a job. 

Moral: The Prophet (Peace be upon him) has said: "Sadaqah (charity) does not decrease wealth." (Muslim)
